‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’ Leaks: New Villain to Unexpectedly Arrive in Sequel Game—Who?

Insomniac and Sony has a lot in store for the sequel.

There are new leaks on what is coming to "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" and it would be the new villain that would give our heroes a hard time in dealing with forces that threaten New York City and the world. Two heroes are confirmed for the game, and these are the two known Spider-Men in the past games from Insomniac, setting them up Spidey's best-known nemesis, Venom.

However, apart from the carnivorous symbiotic alien, there is another villain that is reportedly coming to the game, with Marvel and Insomniac setting up the game for its upcoming release.

A recent claim from a 4chan post said that they recently got back from beta testing the "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" game on the PlayStation 5. Here, the leaker claimed that there is another villain seen early in the game, a "dude" with a green ski mask.

The leaker claimed that this was Sin Eater, a known Spidey villain in his early days as the web-slinging hero in the comic books.

However, the leaker also claimed that this villain is an NYPD officer who is also a serial killer, hiding among law enforcement officials.

This person also has ties to Eddie Brock, the original Venom, who after interviewing a random person claiming to be Sin Eater, was proven to be a fake. Spider-Man caught the real Sin Eater which led Brock to lose his job in the Daily Bugle.

It also leads to his origin story as Venom, after stumbling upon the symbiote in the comics.

Will This New Guy Give the Spider-Men a Hard Time?

As per ComicBook Gaming, take this leak with a grain of salt as the leaker was also unsure if this person was Sin Eater, nor would the villain arrive at the game.

Additionally, this timeline in the "Spider-Man" game is after Peter Parker already left the Bugle, which may indicate that there would be no deep dives on Venom/Sin Eater timeline like in the comics.

The leaker also said that there is another character in the game who looks like Sin Eater, but was not explicitly shown.

'Marvel's Spider-Man' Franchise

There are two releases from Insomniac Games and Sony on the famous "Marvel's Spider-Man" game franchise which started in 2018 for the PlayStation 4. The game saw prominent fame among gamers, with a cult following which avidly monitored Sony's development until late 2020 when the sequel was revealed for the PS5.

"Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales" arrived in the world during the pandemic and they got to explore the game widely, being one of the key offers of the current gen platform.

The other Spider-Man's standalone title saw significant popularity among the public, despite the change of leads, sparking a franchise to also continue the original game from 2018.

Sony saw an epiphany throughout the years, and the company decided to release these games to the PC platform, widening its reach effectively. The "Marvel's Spider-Man" franchise is finally releasing a sequel game to Peter Parker's story that would explore more of his background in the comics while also showing Miles Morales, with the duo seeing significant villains like Venom, and possibly, Sin Eater.
