Notion released its AI writing app in late 2022. At that time, the so-called Notion AI app still lacked some features.
While it did not hint about the launch date for the update, the company just announced on Wednesday, Feb. 22 that everyone can now start accessing the AI editor.
Notion AI Writing App is For Struggling Writers
In a report by Engadget, Notion said that its AI app will be finally available to everyone. This means that even free users can now use it soon.
After 10 weeks of endless experimenting with its feature, the company discovered that the majority of the users prefer using the app to "refine" their writing.
At the time, over 2 million people around the world had signed up for Notion AI's waitlist. It's expected that more users will hop to the site in the next few months.
With the help of a machine-learning algorithm, Notion simplifies the work for those struggling users. The app can help them fix their grammatical and spelling mistakes.
Furthermore, Notion AI can be their "ultimate capable" partner in altering the tone of the paragraph or even changing the length of the text.
Additionally, the company noticed there's a surge of users who often use the "improve writing" option on the platform which gives them an instant replacement for bland words.
Notion AI on its Brand-New Setup
The company aims to transform Notion AI into a more "iterative and conversational" app rather than a simple tool for editing and writing.
With its "completely redesigned" look, the new version is expected to yield more desirable results for the users.
The team behind the AI editor says that it can further enhance your writing style and even summarize long documents that are tedious to read.
At this point, Notion acknowledged users to try the "limited preview" of the app. In doing so, everyone can have early access to Notion AI before they plan to subscribe to it.
According to the company, there are 20 free AI responses that will be rolling out to all users until April 5. Once this perk expires, they will be required to pay a monthly fee of $10 to continue the service.
$10 won't hurt that much for a monthly membership if your regular tasks include editing and writing. However, for annual subscribers, a 20% discount is waiting for them.
