TikTok introduced TikTok Trivia, a new live 5-day trivia competition for anyone 18 years old and over in the US. Users may compete for a piece of a $500,000 prize pool by completing multiple-choice questions about various topics such as beauty, lifestyle, music, and sports.

Lionsgate and John Wick Chapter 4 are co-presenting the event, so viewers can expect surprises and integrations, and possibly trivia questions based on the John Wick series, as the firm said in a press release posted on Thursday, Feb. 16.

On Mar. 24, the highly anticipated fourth chapter in the John Wick film series will be released.

How to Join & What to Expect

Trivia sessions hosted by TikTok are broadcast live on its official channel, where users may join in on the fun. To be eligible for a prize pool, users must be at the scheduled trivia sessions on time and accurately answer all questions.

The first week of TikTok Trivia starts on Feb. 22 and runs through the second week on the 26th, as first reported first by TechCrunch.

US residents aged 18 and up may sign up for the event by visiting Facebook and clicking on a trivia widget in the For You feed. You may search the keyword #TikTokTrivia or by going to the @TikTok account to join.

TikTok Trivia's first three days will consist of daily live sessions that last for an hour each. Both sessions will start at 8:00 PM ET.

There will also be a session called "Survival Rounds," in which the difficulty of the questions increases as the round progresses. A hundred thousand dollars will be divided among the remaining teams or individuals.

TikTok will promote creators who are presently broadcasting on TikTok LIVE after each quiz session. The minimum age to broadcast live on the short video app has been increased to 18 years old in recent months.

'Electrifying Atmosphere'

TikTok Trivia is hosted by creator James Henry, who you may know from his "You've been scrolling for way too long" clips that used to appear on For You page. About 4.2 million people follow Henry on TikTok.

He stated, "Game shows and trivia have been a part of popular culture for years, and I'm thrilled to work with TikTok to bring this engaging entertainment format to TikTok Live. TikTok Trivia has the power to bring people together, creating an electrifying atmosphere filled with excitement and a shared sense of community."

Many TikTok viewers, including John Wick aficionados and those who enjoyed HQ Trivia will be interested in trying out the new trivia feature. HQ Trivia is a live, 12-question video trivia game in which players compete in numerous games per day for cash prizes. Since 2020, this feature has been shut down.

Reports have surfaced that TikTok is considering integrating minigames into its live broadcasts. Further information also suggests the firm may be on the lookout for joint venture partners to launch its live shopping product in the US.
