The court recently asked Sam Bankman-Fried to appear in a New York courtroom before the judge who handles the case. The federal judge assigned to his case was dubious about him communicating with others which the court cannot monitor, which is a significant factor in his case, considering he is under house arrest.
According to his bail appearance and review earlier, Bankman-Fried accessed the internet in ways that officials could not monitor and caused alarm to the court.
Sam Bankman-Fried Asked to Appear in NY Court
The New York Court and federal judge Lewis A. Kaplan has previously asked Sam Bankman-Fried to appear before the courtroom on Thursday to discuss his bail conditions. This is after it was discovered that Bankman-Fried was accessing the internet, which the prosecutors cannot trace in charge of his case.
According to AP News, the prosecutors claimed that SBF used a virtual private network (VPN) for unknown reasons, causing an alarm for his untraceable internet access.
Bankman-Fried's lawyer defended their client, and according to Coin Desk, his Super Bowl VPN usage was what it was all about.
Bankman-Fried Accessed the Internet for NFL?
The former CEO's lawyers now claim that he was using the VPN for his NFL Super Bowl experience, but it did not convince the prosecutors.
There is still a pending bail hearing for Sam Bankman-Fried, and this is because of his untraceable internet access, which he then violated again with the use of a VPN twice in the last two weeks already.
Sam Bankman-Fried and FTX
It is widely known that Sam Bankman-Fried is currently awaiting his trial to commence and review everything which has happened in the past that led to his company's downfall. This is after Bankman-Fried's plea hearing which he claimed to be 'not guilty' of the fraud charges against him, despite his former colleagues and underlings already admitting to their crimes.
FTX is seeking SBF's imprisonment and for all funds to be returned to their rightful owners, especially those amongst the public who previously used its channels to invest in cryptocurrency.
All the money that federal officials and law enforcement agencies recovered is to return to its rightful owners, should it prove stolen from the company.
What once was one of the largest cryptocurrency platforms and an influential young billionaire are now two entities that battle against each other in court.
NFL access, or internet communications, is something that the court needs to determine, especially in SBF's case, as he previously flew to the Bahamas to avoid the charges and issues.
