People will soon be able to purchase a foldable phone from a different manufacturer other than Samsung or Motorola!
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 PM GMT, Oppo will release its Find N2 Flip smartphone to the world, as reported by Evening Standard. Pre-orders will begin at 8:00 AM GMT on the same day.
The London-based launch party will be broadcast live on social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
This will be the first foldable smartphone from Oppo to be sold in markets outside China.
In China, you can purchase both the Find N2 Flip and the larger Find N2, both of which belong to Oppo's second generation of foldable smartphones. However, it is unclear whether the firm will also debut the larger Find N2 during the London event.
Price Comparison
The Find N2 Flip seems to be aimed squarely against the clamshell-styled Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 (about $840-$1020) and the Motorola Razr 2022 (starts at $720), both of which were released last year.
Evidently, foldables are not cheap but compared to Oppo's larger competitors, you may expect to pay less for this model. The Find X5 Pro, 2022's flagship, costs $ about $120 less than the Galaxy S22 Ultra at a retail price of about $1280.
When Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold 4, Oppo released the original Find N in late 2021 as a direct competitor.
Gadget Specs
The Find N2 Flip stands out from the crowd with its large 3.26-inch external display, which can be used for seeing the weather, alerts, and taking photographs. If you compare it to the Samsung Flip 4, which has a 1.9-inch external display, Oppo has the right to brag that it has the biggest cover screen of any flip phone.
Also, according to Oppo, the Find N2 Flip can be folded up to 400,000 times, meaning it will survive for ten years even if you fold and unfold it 100 times every day. The 6.8-inch in-dash screen can refresh at a silky-smooth 120 frames per second (FPS) and has a full HD resolution.
The phone's internals is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus processor, which is also utilized by the likes of Chinese rival Xiaomi and Taiwanese rival Asus. According to the Indian Express, it has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage in the top-end model or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (in the basic model).
There is a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera setup. The front-facing camera is 32 megapixels so that you can take some impressive selfies.
As far as Oppo is concerned, the 4,300mAh battery is more than enough to last a whole day. Plus, it supports 44W fast charging!
