All before the age of 24, Anthony Christian had been accepted to Silicon Valley's most prestigious startup accelerator, the Y Combinator, started one company, two products, sold one of them, and made it on the Forbes 30 under 30 list. He's a natural innovator and a talented software engineer, and his talents speak for themselves. Perpetually fascinated by technology and entrepreneurship, Anthony always knew that he wanted to build companies from the ground up, but the recent accolades he has received weren't always his reality.
In college, Anthony worked on many different startup projects; he would attend any workshop he could gain entry to, network with other entrepreneurs to learn from them, and try his hand at building his own products. The value of failing quickly was one he experienced time and time again, as he had at least 6 different projects fail during his college years. But Anthony doesn't look at those failures with disdain, and instead, sees them as the experiences that readied him for his successes.
Cotter, which was eventually sold to Stytch, was the first successful project Anthony worked on with his 4 co-founders. It focused on providing passwordless login capabilities to website builders, but during its inception, it served as a building block for Anthony's most recent creation: a no-code website builder called Typedream.
Every business, large or small, relies on a strong digital presence to find long-term success, but websites are notorious for being complex and frustrating to create. This often creates a barrier for small business owners, forcing them to outsource spendy design services before hiring a developer to bring it to life. With Typedream, anyone can design a website. This robust platform offers built-in website features with drag-and-drop components, making it easier than ever for anyone to build a website.
As the CIO and co-founder at Typedream, Anthony was the developer behind the core system of Typedream's infrastructure; he poured many hours of programming into building the foundation for a technical tool that requires no technical skills from its users. With his software engineering expertise, he made a scalable and robust infrastructure to ensure its observability and reliability as the platform grows rapidly. As he built and led the software engineering team at Typedream, he also worked on empowering them by developing a streamlined development workflow.
Typedream makes website development easier and more accessible than ever, and because of its offerings, it received the title of the #1 Product of the Day, of the Week, and of the Month on Product Hunt. What many people don't understand is that entrepreneurs don't see their successes in isolation; each success is a culmination of every trial and error that has come before
For Anthony, a revolutionary pioneer in the technology space, failure is always part of the equation. A quote he lives by is, "Failure is always an option. It's an important stepping stone to success." Perhaps even more importantly, Anthony has never let the fear of failure stop him from taking risks. Moving from his home country of Indonesiato the US for college was a risk, starting a business was a risk, and there are more risks ahead. Taking risks can lead to failure, but it can also end in success
As Typedream continues to change the lives of business owners and creators that are in need of accessible website development tools, Anthony will continue to take calculated risks, fail fast, and succeed greatly.
