Apple 27-inch Studio Display, rumored for quite some time now, is reportedly facing another delay.
Apple 27-Inch Studio Display with Mini-LED
As per a report by Apple Insider, the word on the street has been suggesting that the Cupertino-based firm is planning to release a new update for the Studio Display in the spring of 2023.
The upcoming offering reportedly comes with a more prominent 27-inch display. On top of that, it is expected to feature a mini-LED and Promotion. The latter should provide a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
It is worth noting that the current Apple Studio Display skips on ProMotion, giving its users a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The new rumored monitor seeks to upgrade just that.
As for the launch of the higher-end display, rumors have been pointing out its imminent debut since last year.
Mac Rumors reports that well-known analyst Ross Young previously predicted a June 2022 launch. However, it got pushed back to a much later date.
As such, new predictions suggested an October release date for the 27-inch Studio Display with Mini-LED. But it reportedly got delayed again, pushing its launch to the first quarter of 2023.
Is the New Studio Display Delayed Again?
Young's track record is quite impressive. After all, he is the Chief Executive Officer of the Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
He previously accurately predicted the arrival of ProMotion to Apple products like the iPhone 13 Pro and the newer MacBook Pro.
And now, Young cited multiple anonymous sources close to the matter when he spoke about the rumored display with Mac Rumors.
He notes that there is no sign that the iPhone maker is gearing up for the mass production of the higher-end display. So its early 2023 launch has been pushed back again.
With the previous reliable prediction of Young, it might take a while before the new Studio Display sees the shimmer of the spotlight. Keep your tabs here at Tech Times to know about the latest updates on the rumored Apple display.
For now, Apple offers two external displays, the Studio Display, which costs a hefty $1599, and the 2019 Pro Display XDR. Customers may be a little patient before a new option hits the shelves.
