Google: AI Content Remains, Will Not Ban or Mark as Spam on Search Depending on its Quality

AI-generated content lives on in Google's search.

Google gave the world a reinforced and better search engine with the arrival of Bard, its AI assistant that would be managing everything people would look for, but that tackles an important topic about AI-generated content in the platform.

The good news is, people and companies who push for AI-generated content may still have a chance to showcase their creations on search, despite its controversial presence.

Nonetheless, Google will only showcase the best and quality works from artificial intelligence, one which it would also filter for its results.

Google Search to Still Bring AI-Generated Content Online

Google's Search Central confirmed that it would not be banning AI-generated content from appearing online, as there were concerns regarding these creations seeing an immediate block from the company.

In this new Search guidelines from Google, it claims that it will not downright ban or remove AI content from its web browser and results.

Although, it would undergo specific content inspection to determine if they are qualified enough to appear on searches.

The Santa Monica-based company said, "Google's ranking systems aim to reward original, high-quality content that demonstrates qualities of what we call E-E-A-T: expertise, experience, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness."

Google: Quality Only, Spam to Still be Filtered

However, it is a different story for those who use AI in creating content whose only goal is to help their websites or platforms rank on Google's Search engine, as they may be marked as spam and filtered on the results.

"Using automation-including AI-to generate content with the primary purpose of manipulating ranking in search results is a violation of our spam policies."

Google claims that it would be meticulous of what people put online, and carefully review them to give equal opportunities, regardless if it was made by humans or machines.

Google and its AI Focus

Google may not have explicitly showcased its AI creations to the world, but there still is a significant artificial intelligence presence in the company's systems. There was one Google AI that can program by itself, and it only shows the internet company's development to be in-depth and progressive in terms of deep-learning computer development.

Another system by Google centers on using artificial intelligence to help people in their job interviews, providing a tool to help them warm up before facing an actual employer. In order to avoid the "jitters" or pre-interview anxiety, Google's AI helps people face a series of questions about the common and in-depth questions that companies may ask.

AI is not a new thing for Google, and the company has been working with it for a while now, with integrations to its systems, but is only starting to debut this to the public. As what Google said, its Search would still have AI-generated content in them, but it could detect spam and those wanting to rank on its website only, and remove them accordingly.
