Apple is reportedly still working on its iPhone complete reverse wireless charging.
So it turns out that the renowned tech giant did not scrap the feature even after reportedly missing out on the previous target release.
Apple iPhone Reverse Wireless Charging Still in the Works
A recent news story by Apple Insider reports that rumors have hinted at a reverse wireless charging feature for iPhones since 2019.
Rumors started suggesting a reverse charging feature after the teardown of the iPhone 11 Pro Max hinted at such a function.
Apple Insider notes that the 2019 iPhone sported a bilateral wireless charging, but it looks like the tech behemoth decided to deactivate it.
The speculations grew more extensive when the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing of Apple in 2020 for its iPhone 12 lineup provided hints that reverse wireless charging is coming.
The rumors of its arrival went on for the following iPhone lineups in the past years. Reports even pointed out that the recent iPhone 14 Pro is arriving with such a feature. But until now, it has yet to get the shimmer of the spotlight.
But this time, a report by 9to5 Mac claims that the Cupertino giant is still working on the reverse wireless technology for its flagship phones.
The sources of the online news outlet disclosed that Apple initially wanted to include the reverse wireless feature for its iPhone 14 Pro models, which debuted last year or in 2022. However, due to some engineering delays, the tech behemoth had to skip it.
But despite the setback, the anonymous sources say that the giant phone maker continues to develop it.

9to5 Mac notes that Apple is still working on the technology and the software optimizations the iPhone will need once it starts seeing the light of day.
Given that, it remains to be seen if Apple is ready to add reverse wireless charging technology to its next-generation flagship series, potentially the iPhone 15 lineup.

What is Reverse Wireless Charging?
Reverse wireless charging technology essentially lets users charge other devices using their iPhones.
Once Apple started rolling it out, iPhone users only had to place another device on the rear of their smartphone to start topping out the battery of the other device.
It should be handy for accessories or wearables, such as the Apple Watch or Apple AirPods.
