New Higher-End iPhone Could Arrive, But It's Not 'Ultra!' What's The Difference Between Pro and Pro Max?

What is this new iOS smartphone tier if it's not Ultra?

A new higher-end iPhone could be on its way. Mark Gurman, a reliable Apple enthusiast of Bloomberg, shared this detail.

Recently, the tech giant manufacturer has been reported planning to replace the name of its Pro Max tier with "Ultra."

However, Gurman said that Apple has a new plan in mind.

Instead of doing the tier change above, the iPhone maker is expected to add another top-of-the-line model alongside the Pro and Pro Max tiers.

New Higher-End iPhone May Arrive Soon

According to MacRumors' latest report, the new higher-end iPhone tier could arrive around 2024 at the earliest.

If this is true, consumers can see it included in the upcoming iPhone 16 line or other newer iOS smartphone models.

It is still unclear how this higher-end tier would differ from the Pro and Pro Max models.

Gurman added it could be the first version without a charging port.

Besides, he mentioned that this top-of-the-line tier could have a faster chip, a larger screen, and better camera features.

As of now, we should take this news with a grain of salt because there is no confirmation yet from the company, and the details are considered speculations.

As a consumer, the best thing you can do is wait for Apple's official announcements.

Will Apple Users Buy It?

When Apple launched the iPhone 14 series, many people were excited to purchase the product.

But, other consumers criticized the iOS smartphone lineup, saying it looks the same as the older versions.

Some of them even said that the enhancements were just software updates.

Although this is the case, Apple CEO Tim Cook is quite confident that consumers will spend more money to buy more advanced iPhone models.

"I think people are willing to really stretch to get the best they can afford in that category," said Cook via Mark Gurman's Bloomberg report.

He added that iPhone has already become an integral part of people's lives.

Aside from the upcoming higher-tier, Apple is also busy preparing to launch its next-gen iOS smartphones.

Recently, rumors claimed that the new iPhone 15 Pro could have curved corners and narrower bezels.

We also reported the iPhone 16 Pro's possible under-display face ID feature.
