Spotify, one of the largest music streaming platforms in the world, seems to have gone down, leaving users unable to stream music or access the app, Independent reports.
According to a number of user reports, songs failed to load, and the app showed an empty screen instead of the usual page full of songs. Some users were also shown an error message that stated "something went wrong," but the cause of the problem is unclear.
Is Spotify Down?
According to Down Detector, a website that tracks outages, the issues seem to be affecting users across the world. As of 10 p.m. Pacific time, 570 reports had been received, with 45% of users reporting problems with the app, 40% reporting problems with the website, and 15% reporting problems with audio streaming.
Regardless of the widespread concerns, it appears that not all users are impacted. Some users have noted that even though the desktop version is inaccessible, the mobile app is still operational. This implies that the problem might be isolated to a particular region or platform.

An outage is a rare occurrence for the top music streaming app, as Spotify is usually known for its reliability and consistent performance. The platform has millions of users across the world and is a crucial source of music for many. The company has not yet commented on the extent of the outage or when users can expect the platform to be back up and running.
In the meantime, users are left to speculate and wait for an official statement from Spotify. Users can contact the app's customer service for more information about the recent outage.
This is not the first time that Spotify has experienced outages. Back in October, Spotify experienced overwhelming traffic upon Taylor Swift's "Midnights" release, and thousands of users reported outages worldwide.
On Jan. 27, the app also experienced a similar issue. The platform confirmed that the outage was not "limited to the Spotify website." The Spotify app on different platforms is also affected."
A number of users have already tweeted about the recent outage. Check out this tweet.
