The OnePlus Nord 2 was a huge success, earning a lot of praise for its impressive looks and performance. But with its release in the summer of 2021, two years ago, tech geeks are already itching for something more.
New OnePlus Phone Rumored to Feature Top-of-the-Line Specs and Dimensity 8200 SoC
According to the story by Giz China, with the end of its software support in 2024 in sight, the rumored OnePlus Nord 3 has stumbled into the spotlight. Twitter has already been buzzing with excitement over the upcoming phone's specs.
The leakster behind the rumors has spilled the beans, suggesting that the device will feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, flat sides, and, most excitingly, a Dimensity 8200 SoC for lightning-fast speeds.
Powerful Performance and Long Battery Life on the Density 8200 Chipset
It is also set to be powered by a battery ranging from 4,500 to 5,000 mAH and will sport OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13. An alert slider and triple camera array are also included to complete the package.
The Density 8200 isn't MediaTek's most powerful SoC, but it is still significantly more powerful than the Dimensity 1200 released two years ago, offering smoother performance and better battery life.
Improved Photo Capturing Capabilities of the OnePlus Nord 3
As for the camera setup, there may be nothing overly fancy, as the leakster has only mentioned a triple camera array, similar to the one on the OnePlus Nord 2. This feature was passable back then, but with more advanced sensors, the Nord 3 may set a higher bar for mid-range phones.
Speculations point to a large primary sensor, but some also expect OnePlus to stick to the same sensors found in the Nord 2, which include a 50MP main sensor and a 5MP ultra-wide sensor with a 2MP depth sensor, as highlighted in an article by Phone Arena.
A Promising Mid-Range Device for Budget-Conscious Buyers
There is also speculation of a special sensor and laser autofocus on the device, though no confirmed information has been released yet. Overall, the OnePlus Nord 3 is shaping into a formidable mid-range budget smartphone.
The SoC and fast-charging speeds are desirable features that put it a notch above its predecessors. Fans can only wait and see what kind of camera setup OnePlus opts for and if they can integrate special sensors into the arrangement.

Powerful Charging Speeds: Up to 100W with OnePlus Nord 3
Regarding charging speeds, the OnePlus Nord 3 supports up to 100W, so recharging should be a breeze. Other features mentioned include an alert slider and potentially advanced laser autofocus.
As of now, the rumor of the OnePlus Nord 3 is all we have to go on. But, with the Nord 2 now nearing its end of software support in 2024, it would make sense that OnePlus is preparing to release an updated version of its successful mid-range device.
