'The Legend of Zelda' Lego Set: Leak Hints its Release

Lego has previously released sets of popular Nintendo characters like Luigi, Bowser, Mario, and Princess Peach. But that is not all. The nostalgic NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) console has its own 2,600-piece set.

Despite that, a "The Legend of Zelda" Lego set has yet to hit the shelves.

But that seems to be changing this 2023. A new leak suggests that the much-requested set is now in the works.

A well-known leaker of all sorts of Lego stuff, Promobricks, confirms that the giant toymaker is now developing the "Legend of Zelda" set.

According to a report by The Verge, the toy maker has been gathering ideas from customers to gauge what set they want to see next.

However, it is worth noting that Lego has already rejected a total of eight "Zelda" set concepts since 2014, disappointing fans year after year.

So in 2020, the Denmark-based firm went on to ban all Zelda submissions completely. The toy manufacturer explains that there is some sort of "license conflict" hounding the Japanese gaming giant.

Although Lego kept mum about its details, The Verge notes that speculations suggest that another company has gotten its hands on the "Zelda" IP.

But this time, rumor has it that Lego is now finally working on it. Perhaps the license mess has gotten ironed out.

Given that the news comes amid the upcoming release of "the Breath of the Wild" this May, the toy set could likely get the shimmer of the spotlight along with the new game.

Based on 'Great Deku Tree?'

Go Nintendo reports that " The Legend of Zelda" Lego is likely to be a 2-in-1 set based on the Great Deku Tree.

The source of the leak is a Eurobrick forum user that goes by the name JeanGreyForever, claiming to be part of a paid survey. It reportedly gave a glimpse of upcoming Lego sets.

The user who claims to have answered the survey says that "I can confirm that there is a Zelda set in production."

JeanGreyForever reveals that "[there is] one set at least which will feature 1920 pieces and will range from $200-$325, probably $250."
