Nintendo Switch Online's game voucher promotion might soon be back in the United States and the rest of the North American region.
Reports cite a now-deleted YouTube video posted by no less than the official channel of Nintendo. So it seems like the Japanese gaming giant is working to bring back game vouchers for Switch Online.
Nintendo Switch Online Game Vouchers to Make its US Comeback?
It has been quite a while since Nintendo Switch Online, the gaming subscription service of the Japanese behemoth, offered game vouchers in the US.
Although players in other regions could still get their hands on these vouchers, Switch Online members in North America could no longer do so, Nintendo Life reports.
The vouchers promo ended in the North American region way back in July 2019. And since then, it has been available for Switch Online members, but that looks to be changing soon.
Nintendo Unlists Switch Game Voucher YouTube Video
Nintendo Life reports that the official YouTube channel posted a video that hints that a new Switch game voucher promotion is coming to its online subscribers.
However, Nintendo reportedly deleted the video later on. YouTube says that the video is now private, preventing its users from seeing it. So it looks like the gaming giant decided to unlist the video after briefly making it available.
The video disclosed that Switch Online members could get their hands on two featured games for only $99.98. Nintendo World Report notes that the voucher provides up to a $10 discount per gaming title.
The potentially available games, as suggested by the now private video, include "Pokemon Violet and Scarlet," 'Bayonetta 3' " and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe." Other hit games on Switch also showed up, such as "Splatoon 3" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
Interestingly, the video also featured unreleased games like "Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe" and "Bayonetta Origins." So the comeback of game vouchers might occur once these games have been released.
"Bayonetta Origins" is debuting this March 17, while "Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe" is hitting the shelves on February 24.
It now remains unclear if Nintendo intends to bring back the game vouchers to North America after unlisting the video that hints at its comeback.
If ever the gaming giant proceeds with the voucher promotion, it would mark its comeback after four years.
