Google Stadia players may have lost their main service to play their games via the cloud as the company shut down the service shortly after more than three years of its run. Different companies are now offering their cloud gaming platforms to Stadia players under free trials, to give them insights on other services and help them transition to their next preference.
Stadia Players: Cloud Gaming Free Trial from Ubisoft, Amazon
Google indeed left a massive hole among gamers who were playing on its famed cloud service, the Stadia, as it officially closed last week. Although gamers were entitled to refunds, it will still give them a hard time looking for a new service if they were accustomed to Stadia's platform, service, offers, and setup.
With that, several companies offer their cloud gaming platforms available for a limited free trial, to help gamers adjust to these changes.
Ubisoft with GeForce Now
The first is with Ubisoft, who recently sent out emails to former Stadia subscribers (via 9to5 Google), but these were made known to Ubisoft+ users.
Nevertheless, the goal is to invite people to try out the renowned Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming platform, particularly its middle tier, the "Priority Tier," which goes for $10 a month. The French company offers a 1-month free trial to all with the GeForce Now Priority Tier that will give gamers 6 hours of gaming with no cap, 1080p, and 60 fps for its premium experience.
Despite not receiving any email regarding this, gamers may access this via Ubisoft's website for registration and claim the free trial.
Amazon Luna's Cloud
On the other hand, the popular e-commerce company is also offering gamers a chance to try out its cloud gaming platform, Amazon Luna, for free with two months' worth of gaming. The company offers the Luna+ tier which is priced at $9.99 a month.
Gamers who cannot decide which platforms to try, they may choose both simultaneously to experience its service and choose the best to suit their needs.
Google Stadia
Google launched the Stadia cloud gaming platform back in 2019, and it is considered an industry leader in revamping this online service to the world. It is one of the earliest among the Big Tech who brought this to the world, and it did so with renowned titles including "Red Dead Redemption 2," "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition," "Final Fantasy XV," and more.
The company expanded more on its titles, allowing new games available for all to purchase, and it did so with "Cyberpunk 2077," "Resident Evil: Village," "Hitman 3," and more.
However, with newfound glory came its bittersweet end, as the company was rumored to have its services stop, with Ubisoft first confirming this as it announced to bring Stadia games to its platform.
After only more than three years of providing a platform for gamers via the cloud, Google has already shut down Stadia and its entirety. However, that does not mean gamers are left with no choices among the many providers, as Ubisoft and Amazon are offering them a free trial to help with their transition to other services and familiarize themselves with their next platform.
