The 2024 Polestar 2

Several upgrades have been unveiled for the upcoming Polestar 2, which will be so exciting. It will also be the first model by the brand to offer a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration, which will help the Electric Vehicle (EV) achieve its best range to date.

It was three years ago when Polestar 2 debuted as a 2021 model. Since then, it has continued to grow in popularity since. While the company has delivered Polestar 2 in various powertrains and delivered technological upgrades over the air, they have yet to deliver a rear-wheel drive version of any of its EVs.

Now, an RWD Polestar 2 will soon be available as a 2024 model. It will have some same design features as the brand-new Polestar 3 is scheduled to arrive this year as well.

RWD Polestar 2

The latest Polestar 2 will feature a SmartZone design that represents a new design language for the EV. It consists of several forward-facing sensors, a front-facing radar, heating wires, ultrasonic sensors, and accelerometers that combine to operate as a smart eye with ready-to-react safety technology.

There will also be a lot more on its front end. The three latest Polestar 2 variants will have performance upgrades due to the new batteries and updated powertrains.

The new motor will deliver an increase in power output from 231 hp to 299 hp. Now with the new RWD configuration, the 0-60 mph acceleration has shaved off 1.1 seconds, down to 5.9 seconds.

The two Dual Motor versions of the Polestar 2 are also rear-wheel biased, delivering a re-balanced setup and torque-ration. As a result, customers can look forward to the better overall efficiency and higher performance when it comes to torque, horsepower, and acceleration.

Additionally, drivers will be able to disengage the front motor when not needed, which will boost the range and efficiency of their drive. Through this new feature, the Dual Motor Polestar 2 will achieve the same range as the 2023 Single Motor variant.

Finally, the new RWD Single Motor Polestar 2 will have a slightly bigger battery pack allowing up to 300 miles of all-electric range.

Other features include upgraded 20-inch forged alloy wheels in the Performance Pack, Driver Awareness features, a Harman Pardon premium sound system, and a panoramic glass roof.

Currently, the 2024 Polestar 2 is available, and the deliveries are expected to begin later this year.

Are you excited for the latest Polestar 2 to arrive this year? This only proves that the EV maker is making significant steps to be a leader in the EV industry.
