The iPhone 15 is expected to be released later this year, and new information has surfaced about its design. The two Pro variants may have narrower bezels, and all four models will have rounded corners to mimic the Apple Watch.

Curves Are Making a Comeback

According to seasoned Apple leaker ShrimpApplePro, via MacRumors, the screen sizes of the four new phones will be the same as in 2022. Furthermore, Dynamic Island will be included in all versions.

A flat display is promised, with the tipster emphasizing that the curved edges of the bezels are all that will connect the phone's front and back panels. Unfortunately, it seems like the actual selfie camera phone module is not going to be updated too much.

The bezels on the iPhone 14 are already quite tiny, so it will be fascinating to see how much farther Apple can push this trend with the two more costly phones in the line.

Curved bezels are something else most people are interested in seeing. It is probable that Apple may return to an overall curved design, similar to the iPhone 11. In fact, this would not be the first time an iPhone display shrank toward the sides.

TechRadar's source refers to the top-tier iPhone as the "iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra)," which is an admission that Apple still has no official name for this phone, even though there have been several speculations referring to it as the iPhone 15 Ultra in recent weeks.

Exploring More of iPhone 15's Rumored Designs

Prior to this, there were additional speculations concerning the Ultra's designs.

It is said that Apple may be considering a titanium-framed iPhone Ultra. The tech company may use titanium to its maximum and build the phone with a slightly curved back plate like the iPhone 5c and MacBook Pro.

Apple may also replace the volume and power buttons with solid-state buttons, akin to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 generations. These buttons seem to provide a haptic sensation like physical buttons.

Apple's long-awaited switch to USB C may happen with the iPhone 15 series, as well. Apple has considered the move for years, but a recent EU order pushed Cupertino to acknowledge that it must comply with the universal standard openly.

Reports indicate that by 2024, EU-sold portable devices must feature a USB Type-C charging connector.

In a previous report by PhoneArena, Apple's chief of marketing, Greg "Joz" Joswiak, once stated that Apple would comply with the order and switch to USB C. However, no USB C changeover timeline was specified. Analyst Mark Gurman anticipates Apple will go to USB C with the iPhone 15 generation in 2023, despite having time until 2024 with the iPhone 16 generation.
