While the South Korean tech giant has yet to introduce its new flagship lineup, a new leak hints that the next-generation S-series features a modified chipset.

Samsung Galaxy S23's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Modified
As per a news story by XDA Developers, Samsung is gearing up to unveil the upcoming Galaxy S23 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event next month. It should give us the long-awaited details for the all-new Android smartphone.
But ahead of the said event, leaks about the next Samsung mobile device are already sprouting like mushrooms. The latest one suggests that the upcoming flagship lineup rocks a custom version of the Snapdragon chipset.
The documentation of the Galaxy S23 reportedly refers to the rumored custom chipset as "Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy."
9to5 Google, which saw the documentation, reports that the Qualcomm processor has been tweaked a bit, specifically for the upcoming Samsung devices.
So what sets it apart from the typical Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that other Android devices featured? The documentation reportedly disclosed that the custom chip flaunts a higher clock speed right off the bat.
The modified processor supports up to 3.36GHz of clock speed. On the other hand, the usual clock speed of the Qualcomm flagship chipset only goes up to 3.2GHz.

Samsung Galaxy S23: Rumored Specs and Release Date
Even if the Galaxy Unpacked Event is still several days away, early reports and leaks have given us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy S23 series.
Tom's Guide says the upcoming Samsung device is likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset globally. Reports say that the giant phone maker is ditching the Exynos chip for its upcoming flagship device.
It might feature a 50-megapixel primary camera, along with ultrawide and telephoto snappers. The selfie shooter is likely to be at 12 MP.
As for the release date, the South Korean giant has already announced that it is introducing the Galaxy S23 series on February 1, along with its all-new Galaxy Book offerings.
Meanwhile, Samsung revealed the colorways of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series ahead of its launch next month.
