A new YouTube hub is being tested as of writing. This new enhancement will support free ad-supported channels and other content.
A YouTube spokesperson said that the new hub is a part of their effort to make the giant video platform a central destination, which can bring all the content that viewers want to watch.
"We are currently running a small experiment that allows viewers to watch free ad-supported linear channels alongside the wide variety of content we offer on the platform," confirmed the YT official via TechCrunch.

According to The Wall Street Journal's report, the new FAST hub is the latest initiative of YouTube to expand its ambitions in video streaming.

People familiar with YT's works claim that the new FAST hub could arrive before 2023.
However, YouTube hasn't confirmed the exact release date of the new hub. This means that it could be rolled out in 2023 or after 2023, depending on the development's progress.
The new YouTube FAST hub is expected to put the company in better competition with Tubi, Pluto TV, Roku, and other rivals in the video industry.
What YouTube FAST Hub Could Offer
As of press time, YouTube hasn't shared what its new FAST hub will specifically offer.
But, rumors claimed that the streaming giant is working with numerous content suppliers, such as Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., Cinedigm Corp., and A+E Networks.
Back in March 2022, YouTube already launched free ad-supported TV shows. However, these linear titles are scattered on the platform.
The new FAST hub is expected to bring all these FAST TV shows and other content into one place, making it easier for viewers to access them.
Aside from the new FAST hub, YouTube is also rolling out other enhancements to improve its platform.
Recently, the company confirmed that it would allow creators to monetize YouTube Shorts as early as Feb. 1.
We also reported that the new YouTube queueing system for iOS and Android devices is being tested.
