Samsung Jacks Up Galaxy S23 Price with Around a 10-20% Increase

The Samsung Galaxy S23 could raise its prices.

Samsung has recently announced the global launch event of the Galaxy S23 range, which is taking place on February 1st. The highly anticipated range of devices is expected to take Samsung's flagship series to the next level with new specs and design innovations.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Could Get a 10-20% Price Increase

However, as the launch event draws nearer, reports are circulating that Samsung is set to raise the price of one of the models in the upcoming lineup. According to a Korean outlet, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will experience a 10 to 20 percent price increase, leading to speculation that Samsung is reluctant to pass on the cost of the latest range to consumers.

This is potential because of the underwhelming performance of the Galaxy S22 range, leading Samsung to be wary of confirming a sales boost caused by the higher cost. The Galaxy S23 is set to include the standard 8GB/128GB model priced at $799 and 8GB/256GB at $849, alongside the Galaxy S23 Plus 8GB/128GB model priced at $999, and 8GB/256GB priced at $1049.

Different Prices for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at Different Specs

According to the story by Giz China, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will reportedly feature the same 8GB RAM and a 256GB storage boost in the base model, costing $1249. Additionally, the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model will come in at $1349, and 12GB/1TB is set to cost $1499.

On top of these price increases, it is expected that Samsung's exclusive color variants could also be delayed by 2-6 weeks. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is set to come in unique color options, including Cotton Flower, Misty Lilac, Phantom Black, and Botanic Green, as explained further in Phone Arena.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to Come with New Processor, Camera, Color Options, and More

Despite the price increases, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is set to offer something new and improved to Samsung's flagship series. With a new processor, improved camera, and a variety of color options, it's likely that consumer demand for the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be high. With any luck, the higher launch cost will not put off eager buyers when the range is made available.

Overall, Samsung is expecting the same success from the S23 Ultra as the S22 Ultra by taking the risk of raising the prices of the device. Given the specs and features of the S23 Ultra, the increased price would be justified.

The Galaxy S23 Range Offers Competitiveness Without Bottom Line Sacrifices

In the end, it seems Samsung has done all it can to keep the S23 range competitive without sacrificing its bottom line. After a somewhat disappointing performance with the S22, this slight price increase could be the move that helped the S23 launch as a success.

Despite the price rise, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to be well received. Offering a better processor, great cameras, and good overall performance, the high-end device is likely to perform well.
