Apple's MacBook Air might release a larger 15-inch version in 2023.
So it looks like the much-awaited MacBook Air option is on its way to release this year, following its redesign last year or in 2022.
Apple MacBook Air 15-inch Release
As per a report by Mac Rumors, Apple is planning to debut its larger MacBook Air this 2023, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.
Gurman says in his weekly newsletter that the Cupertino-based tech giant is working on releasing its new MacBook Air offering this year.
Besides its release, Gurman did not expound on the details of the upcoming larger Air.
It is worth noting that Apple redesigned its MacBook Air when it stuffed it with the M2 chip. The latest version sports a 13.6-inch display. It now rocks a notch that houses the 1080p FaceTime camera.
The new look also features a flat design in favor of the wedge-type look, which sets it apart from its predecessors.
15-inch MacBook Air: Here's What to Expect
Mac Rumors says in its report that the larger Air is most likely to flaunt the same design as its 13-inch sibling. So it looks like the flat design is here to stay. Not to mention that the notch might make its way too.
The news outlet further notes that the 2023 Air offering could potentially feature an M2 chip or a much more powerful M2 Pro chipset.
Coincidentally, display analyst Ross Young previously stated that Apple is looking to kick off the production of its 15.5-inch display panels for a MacBook in the first quarter of 2023. He went on to add that it might see the light of day in spring this year.
Given that, it looks like the 15-inch MacBook Air and the Apple Mixed Reality AR/VR headset could likely debut in a spring event.
But it is worth mentioning that the MR headset might take a little while to unveil. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes it could potentially be pushed back until WWDC 2023.
Initially, the mixed reality device is scheduled to launch in January 2023. However, it is less likely to launch this month reportedly due to production issues.

No More 12-inch MacBook?
Gurman also believes that the 12-inch MacBook is no longer in the works, Forbes reports.
The Bloomberg journalist previously predicted that the renowned tech giant is gearing up to launch it either in 2023 or in 2024.
But this time, Gurmansays that the comeback of the MacBook offering has exited the "near term" plans of Apple.
Instead, we might see the much-awaited 15-inch MacBook Air this 2023.
