A photographer captured a total of 48 moon hues. Marcella Giulia Pace completed her work after 10 years of hard work.
Most people have only seen Earth's natural satellite's white, black, dark grey, orange, and red hues.
Little do they know that the colors of the moon can range in more than 40 variants.
Marcella revealed this through her stunning photography.
Photographer Captures 48 Moon Hues!
According to National Geographic, Pace decided to combine all her captured moon photos in a spiral montage.
This allows lunar enthusiasts to easily compare 48 moon hues at once.
In her photo, you can also see that some of the shapes of the moon are also altered.
This is because Marcella used different angles to capture various lunar hues.
"The shape of the Moon also changes: at the bottom of the horizon, refraction compresses the lunar disk at the poles and makes it look like an ellipse," explained the photographer via her official blog post.
Those who already saw her work are not the only ones surprised by the moon hues. Even Pace herself was stunned after finding out that such lunar colors can be seen.
She said that it is incredible how the human eyes can easily deceive you by making so few adjustments.

Why Does The Moon's Color Change?
Marcella explained that there are various reasons why the moon's color changes.
These include the person's view angle. For example, if you are viewing Earth's natural satellite while it is above the horizon, it will appear red or orange.
Aside from the angle, water droplets, dust, wildfire smoke, and other particles present in the atmosphere could also affect the moon's hue variants.
The rarest color that the lunar object can have is a blue hue. If you want to learn more about how the moon's color changes, you can click this link.
