DuckDuckGo released a new feature that blocks one of the most annoying pop-ups - Sign In With Google.
Before launching the update, websites usually asked the user to use their Google account to sign in.
The message will try to convince online visitors that the process doesn't require passwords and will not take much of their time.
Thanks to DuckDuckGo's new update, users no longer need to deal with this annoying pop-up.
DuckDuckGo Now Blocks 'Sign In With Google' Pop-Up
According to TechRadar's latest report, the new feature of DuckDuckGo that blocks the "Sign In With Google" pop-up works on the mobile app.
DuckDuckGo's extensions on Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox also have the new privacy feature.
The search engine giant said this enhancement offers a cleaner experience and more privacy.
"We just released Google Sign-in Pop-up Protection to help block the pop-ups in our apps and extensions," said DuckDuckGo via its official Twitter announcement post.
For other individuals, the blocked pop-up is not really a big deal. But, DuckDuckGo explained why it is important to block it.
Not Just a Pop-Up Remover
DuckDuckGo explained that its new privacy feature is not just about removing the annoying "Sign In With Google" pop-up.
The tech firm said this pop-up is another way for Google to track users without users realizing it.
The search engine company added that Google could pitch its pop-up to web developers. If this is true, then more targeted ads could be generated by websites.
DuckDuckGo is still making efforts to enhance the private browsing experience it offers.
Recently, the DuckDuckGo web tracking tool was launched to prevent Microsoft tracking scripts.
DuckDuckGo and Brave also blocked Google's AMP tracking on articles.
