OpenAI Point-E: 3D Modeling Software Now Available, Similar to DALL-E’s Text-to-Image Generation

OpenAI's latest venture is for 3D modeling for specific programs.

OpenAI debuted a new software for the public, and it is called Point-E, centering on delivering 3D models for its output, centering on the company's text-to-image technology. It still focuses on delivering artificial intelligence tech from its development, but this time, instead of DALL-E's offers of still image generations, it will provide three-dimensional models.

Point-E is here, and OpenAI recently announced the latest software it developed to deliver another text-to-media AI generation technology from its development. However, it does not center on image and text in this tech, rather, it is intended for delivering 3D models for a user's needs, still heavy on its image generation technology.

Instead of flat, two-dimensional images, this new software is capable of tapping into the third dimension for its outputs.

It only takes up one GPU to process a user's request for the said 3D model and saves a relative amount of time as previous programs need hours to generate this output.

Point-E is like DALL-E, but for 3D Models

OpenAI made this technology like the DALL-E series, but not the same output will arrive for users. As mentioned earlier, Point-E needs user input using text to generate the said image which they require the AI to deliver, but its output centers on 3D models with multiple applications in the present industry.

It will help in saving time and delivering the needed output from designers and 3D model render artists, with only several requirements and time.

The new venture is still on its baby steps, and not yet on a full blast, and OpenAI aims to deliver it soon for the world to experience the Point-E.

OpenAI's Technology

From the founder, Sam Altman, and several high-profile backers like Elon Musk (who left the company recently), is one of the most famous tech companies for AI now, OpenAI. Why is it famous? Well, it delivers highly controversial technology, centering on its development of artificial intelligence to deliver media from user-generated commands.

It centers on delivering complex creations from simple commands, and it is made by a range of diverse programmers that center on delivering the programs for the world.

OpenAI's technology is capable of translating the English language from user input to create computer codes that may help in developing software, program, websites, games, and more. It only shows that its technology that centers on text speech to different outputs is capable of delivering even the most complex for what a user needs.

Despite its success in its initial programs with the DALL-E and ChatGPT, OpenAI is not yet done with its AI developments and software that it aims to share with the world. The Point-E is one helpful technology, especially to those tasked with 3D designs, one which they may use in programs, designs, games, and other needs for the software.
