LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 10: Ashley Speicher, Xbox Game Pass exec, speaks during the Microsoft xBox E3 briefing at the Microsoft Theater on June 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. The E3 Game Conference begins on Tuesday June 12.
Access Every Character in Riot Games
As Xbox and Riot Games announced their partnership last June, both gaming giants just announced the big news. CNet reported that Game Pass subscribers would have full access to every character in League of Legends and Valorant starting December 12, while League of Legends: Wild Rift is in January.
This deal will also be applied to Legends of Runeterra and Teamfight Tactics. While all of the games mentioned are free-to-play, players will have to grind or pay for a certain character to unlock immediately.
The Verge reported that these perks would let the subscribers play every character in the game without spending additional time and money. As of the moment, League of Legends has 162 released champions, Wild Rift has 95 released champions, and Valorant has 20 agents.
Subscribed players need to link their Riot accounts to their Game Pass accounts to gain access to the perks. All of the characters will be unlocked from there. If players link their Riot accounts before January 1st, they will receive a small extra bonus in each game. Kotaku provided a list and it includes:
- Valorant - Pocket Sage Buddy
- League of Legends - Masterwork Chest and Key
- Teamfight Tactics - Little Legend Rare Egg
- Wild Rift - Random Emote Chest
- Legends of Runeterra - Prismatic Chest
Xbox Game Pass Community Lead Megan Spurr stated, "As a part of this partnership, the titles available on PC can be accessed through the Xbox App on PC as well as through a Riot account. Once a player's Xbox Game Pass and Riot accounts are linked, the benefits are available through either account."
Other Benefits
Aside from access to every character, Xbox announced other perks in the subscription. These include a 20% Match XP boost given to Battle Pass, Event Pass, and active Agent Contract progress for Valorant, League of Legends, and Wild Rift.
Legends of Runeterra will be giving all cards in Foundation Set, while Teamfight Tactics will be giving 1-star Rare Little Legend Tacticians and 5 Arena Skins.
Capcom will also be part of the Game Pass subscription, according to an announcement a few days ago. Monster Hunter Rise will open its doors to more consoles by next year, including PlayStation and Xbox platforms. The game launched on the Nintendo Switch and PC Platform last March 26, 2021.
This will feature support for 4K resolution and 3D audio. According to the leaks, the game will also support cross-play and cross-progression between Xbox consoles and Xbox app for Windows PC.
