A new T-Mobile Home Internet study revealed that cable users are now moving to FWA (fixed wireless access).
The telecommunications company's latest study shows that the Home Internet product has already made a huge impact on the market.
Aside from this, the research also highlights the growth of the 5G fixed wireless services as more and more people use them.
New T-Mobile Home Internet Study Shows FWA's Growth
According to CNET's latest report, T-Mobile used its proprietary data from Leichtman Research and OpenVault to complete the study.
The telecom giant announced that the T-Mobile Home Internet service was able to garner over two million customers.
In the new study, it was revealed that 51% of the users were recently using cable internet services.
The remaining 49% are those who used satellite, DSL, or who didn't have any broadband providers before.
"Fixed wireless is disrupting a historically broken broadband industry, offering choice and competition at a time when consumers need it most," said T-Mobile's Chief Marketing Officer Mike Katz.
Why Do People Transfer to FWA?
T-Mobile explained that there are various reasons why consumers are replacing their cable internet services with FWA-based ones.
One of their main reasons is the lower prices. Aside from this, FWA also has no annual contract, meaning users can cancel them anytime they want without paying penalty fees.
WaveDirect reported that FWA also offers a more dedicated connection compared to cables. This means that your internet is more stable.
To help you learn more about the FWA, here are its other benefits:
- Fixed wireless access services can offer up to 1 Gbps of internet speed.
- FWA also provides synchronous bandwidth speeds that enable better circuit configurations, allowing users to configure circuits so that upload and download speeds match.
