Elon Musk Reveals that Apple Has Resumed Advertising on Twitter

Apple reportedly funnels more than $100 million a year on Twitter to advertise its products.

Elon Musk and Apple appeared to have struck a deal that would prevent a brewing conflict between the two tech giants despite previous misunderstandings. The new Chief Twit revealed that Apple has "fully resumed" advertising on the social media platform, reported first by Bloomberg.

The billionaire announced this during a Twitter Spaces conversation on Saturday, Dec. 3. He spoke for more than two hours in the session from his private plane, with more than 90,000 users listening to what he had to say.

Musk also revealed that the Cupertino-based tech giant is the biggest advertiser on the blue bird app.

Twitter has taken off a rocky road since Musk took the reigns on the platform. His free speech absolutist stance did not sit well with several groups, businesses, and figures which ultimately led to some companies pulling off their ads from the app, one of them being Tesla's Rival GM.

How Musk and Apple Resolved Their Conflict

Apple allegedly threatened Twitter and Elon Musk on their plans to create a third-party payment mechanism for their verified subscription under their new social media platform guidelines.

The CEO previously claimed, citing other grievances against the Cupertino corporation, that Apple "threatened to withdraw" Twitter from the Apple App Store because of this decision.

Musk even quoted anti-Apple tweets from the past, one of which focused on Epic Games' attack on Apple with "Nineteen-Eighty Fortnite."

Another audacious claim made by the tech CEO is that if firms ban Twitter from their App Stores, he will build his own smartphone to cater to his newly-owned microblogging platform.

There were several disputes around Twitter's blue verification checkmark for a brief period of time, including early concerns regarding the platform's ban.

On Nov. 18, Musk criticized the App Store reduction, calling it a "hidden 30% tax on the Internet."

But all is well between the two entities as Apple's CEO Tim Cook invited Musk to their headquarters to resolve the conflict.

Musk posted a snippet of his trip to Apple's office saying: "Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so."
