Musk has notably been a fan of sci-fi and fantasy alike, with The Lord of the Rings being one mentioned a few times. A recent tweet shared the words of Samwise Gamgee in the character's exchange with Frodo Baggins, another LOTR character, to which the Twitter CEO replied.
For those unfamiliar, Samwise Gamgee and Frodo Baggins are two hobbits in the LOTR movies directed by Peter Jackson and still written by JRR Tolkien. During the exchange, Frodo and Sam were talking in the ruins nearing Gondor in the second installment, The Two Towers.

The tweet shared the iconic line of Samwise Gamgee reminding Frodo that there is still some good left in the world, and it is worth fighting for. These words came from Sam as Frodo questioned him regarding what they were holding on to.
For the scene's context, Sam and Frodo had just been kidnapped by Faramir and were taken to the ruins near Gondor. After coming close to a Black Rider, the two were able to share a moment where they pondered on the gravity of the situation.

After the release of Amazon's The Rings of Power series, Musk took to Twitter to say that "Tolkien is turning in his grave." He then explained in a follow-up tweet that "almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice," per an article by NME.

Another LOTR Actor Also Criticized The $1 Billion The Rings of Power Series by Amazon
The Rings of Power by Amazon was reportedly the most expensive series ever made, with a production budget of $1 billion. Musk was not the only critic of the series, with a previous actor of The Two Towers and The Return of The King LOTR movies also sharing his criticism.
Actor Bernard Hill, who plays King Theoden, slammed the new Amazon series calling it a "money-making venture," saying that he is not interested in watching it. He also said that the series was "not like the real thing" and that the franchise should have ended with The Return of the King, per Variety.
