Corvette is an established luxury car nameplate in the auto industry. It shares the same prestige as BMW or Benz when it comes to prices and features.
General Motors (GM), the automaker behind this brand is expected to launch two different styles for the electric car edition. The ambitious release of these variants is expected to arrive in 2025.
GM to Unveil Two Corvette Styles
When the C8 first came out, people assumed that GM would immediately jump to EVs and produce more hybrid cars to compete with other car manufacturers in the world.
The company's Ultium architecture remains impressive for a Corvette EV and it is expected to be added to future car releases.
Somehow, GM aims to reach more owners by releasing two variations of Corvette EVs in 2025, according to Car and Driver. The site reports that the styles will include a crossover SUV and a four-door coupe.
The all-electric editions for cars are something too new to GM given that it only launched non-electric sports cars in the past. The new branding will give a new name to the long-time-running company of vehicles.
Sources said that GM Tech Center told Car and Driver that the proposals for Corvette styles are "copies of nothing."
Not Just a Brand, But Improvement
The spokesperson added that it's not just a brand, but it's a constantly evolving system paired with a dramatically different user experience."
Moreover, the representative also mentioned that GM has no aim to surpass Cayenne and Taycan. Instead, it will target to produce "three American legends" that could expose how Corvette shines among others.
Additionally, the source also said that the upcoming styles are borne out of "encapsulated emotional purity." It is expected that they would come out with more powerful and faster software, as well as miniaturized componentry.
Other than that, they will reportedly arrive with an 800-volt electrical system that can sustain a charging power of 350W. Some notable features include multi-mode four-wheel steering, two-speed transmission, a patented cooling concept, and high-quality electric motors.
Will the Corvette Variations be Affordable to the Public?
Since GM has finalized its decision to release the unique Corvette style three years from now, the waiting time might not be appropriate for some aspiring car owners.
According to Electrek's report on Tuesday, Nov. 29, there's a possibility that the waiting time for them will be extended. However, it's another twist for Corvette fans who are looking for different styles for luxury EVs.
Maybe GM knows what it's doing despite the rapid advancement of in-car technology. There might be some catching up that will happen, but if it's really the "real deal," then the company is guaranteed to bring what's best for the enthusiasts out there.
