Google is reportedly testing Gmail and Calendar apps for Wear OS and Pixel Watch.
It should allow Wear OS users to check their emails and schedule in a few taps using their wearable devices.
Google Gmail, Calendar Apps for Wear OS is Reportedly Under Testing
According to a recent report by 9to5 Google, it looks like the search engine giant is finally working to bring its flagship apps to Wear OS.
Google is now reportedly planning to roll out Gmail and Calendar apps to its Wear OS.
9to5 Google notes in its report that before the release of the Pixel Watch, the tech giant improved the overall experience for Wear OS. The tech behemoth revamped and debuted first-party apps to the smartwatch software.
And now, it looks like Calendar and Gmail apps are on their way.
The news outlet reports that Google is currently testing a new Gmail and Calendar app for Wear OS users. So Wear OS and Pixel Watch users might finally get their hands on these much-awaited offerings anytime soon.

Calendar and Gmail Limitations on Wear OS
For the longest time, Wear OS users could only access their emails via the notifications on the wearable device, according to a recent report by Arstechnica.
Given that, there is no option for smartwatch users to check their entire inboxes from their wrist once the notifications are gone. Instead, they will have to get their smartphones or desktops to check the messages they might have missed.
On the other hand, Google Calendar users can take a look at their schedule using the Agenda app on the Pixel Watch. It enables users to take a detailed view of their day.
However, 9to5 Google notes in its story that it has some limitations. The Agenda app only shows three days' worth of activities. So if you want to look at more days, you'll have to open the Calendar app from your phone.
Interestingly, Arstechnica points out that it seems odd that the Gmail app took time before Google started working on it. Wear OS apparently offers similar full-blown apps, such as Google Messages, wherein the full SMS inbox is viewable on a smartwatch.

But this time, it looks like the search engine giant is now working to bring the full-blown apps of Gmail and Calendar to smartwatches.
With that said, it would not be surprising that the upcoming Gmail app would greatly resemble Messages on Wear OS.
