Apple has rolled out a few updates on its social media videos as part of its newest launch ad for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Idris Elba's "Biggest" song is featured as the original soundtrack in the advertisement, but people knew that there was something wrong about it being a snippet.
Shortly thereafter, the Cupertino tech firm entirely removed the actor's vocals following some complaints from other listeners that the lyrics sounded like an offensive racial slur.
Apple Removes iPhone 14 Vocal Ad
According to a report by 9to5Mac on Monday, Nov. 28, Apple made some adjustments when it comes to the original vocals of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus launch ad on YouTube.
Before, you can hear the lyrics from "Biggest," but now all you can hear are just instrumentals for the soundtrack. Throughout the video, you will notice that the beats added in the advertisement are quite unfit as a snippet.
Apple did some changes in the vocal ad so the listeners will not be confused with the words and how they are used in the clip.
Despite removing Elba's lyrics from the ad soundtrack, the iPhone maker still included his song in the video description. Apple even posted a link where you can listen to his song although what you can hear in the clip is only the backing track.
Original Lyrics Are Racial Slurs
According to some people, the "Biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, it's the biggest bounce of the summer" lyrics sound offensive, especially to black people. It's attributed to the n-word as told by many.
However, when you pay close attention to the lyrics, it describes the "biggest" release of the iPhone 14 Plus which has a bigger screen compared to the regular iPhone 14. The latter has a 6.7-inch screen while the former has only a 6.1-inch display.

What is Apple Doing With Siri?
In another story by Voicebot.ai, Apple is reportedly working to shorten the "Hey Siri" wake word into a simple "Siri" only. The changes will mean that the company is keeping up with Amazon's Alexa when it comes to shortened wake words.
With this in mind, it seems that the tech titan wants a more straightforward take for Siri especially to pair well with various accents and voices that are available.
To achieve this adjustment, Apple will rely on engineering to fully create a unique wake word that's more concise, shorter, and clearer than the previous ones.
The shortening of the wake word is still in beta phase by Apple employees. It is expected that it will be officially available in late 2022 or if not, by 2023.
