'Gran Turismo' Creator Kazunori Yamauchi Is Not Ruling Out the Possibility of the Game Getting a PC Version
Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of "Gran Turismo" is not ruling out the possibility of the game getting a PC version. According to the story by The Verge, the long-running racing sim franchise could actually get a PC version sometime in the future.
According to an interview Yamauchi had with GTP Planet via Eurogamer, he expressed his thoughts regarding the franchise's move towards PC. The interview was done during the Gran Turismo World Finals, which was held on Sunday.
Yamauchi Said the Polyphony Digital Development Team is Already Looking Into the Possibility
During the interview, Yamauchi said that the Polyphony Digital development team is already "looking into" bringing the series to PC from its original PlayStation. The creator also highlighted that the game is a "very finely tuned title."
Yamauchi expressed his concerns regarding getting the game to run consistently in 4K at 60 FPS across all platforms. He said that it was not easy, but they are definitely looking into the possibility and considering it.
'Gran Turismo' Never had a Platform Outside of the PlayStation in 25 Years
The original release of "Gran Turismo 7" was originally designed for the PlayStation5 4 and the PlayStation 5 back in March. Its potential jump toward the PC would become a significant milestone for the series should it happen.
The previous installments of the games, which spanned a whopping 25 years, have never run on any other platforms besides the PlayStation. Should "Gran Turismo" come to PC, this would make it one of the few PlayStation-exclusive titles that have decided to do the same.
Once PlayStation Exclusive Titles that Now have Their Own PC Versions
Sony has already brought other popular titles to the PC despite originally launching as PlayStation exclusives. Some examples of titles that have been brought to PC are "Horizon Zero Dawn," "God of War," "Days Gone," "Spider-Man: Miles Morales," and lastly "Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves."
The article by The Verge noted that there are more likely other titles on the way to make the jump from being a PlayStation exclusive to playable on PC. Jim Ryan, the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, gave a statement regarding this matter.

Sony Interactive Entertainment President Expects Half of Titles to be Available on PC by 2025
Ryan noted in an investor presentation in May that the company is already expecting about half of its game releases to become available to either PC or mobile by the year 2025. PlayStation Studios has also acquired Nixxes Software.
Nixxes Software is a technical developer group that works on PC ports and game optimization. Some of their notable work include "Marvel's Avengers" and "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided."
