Canada is among the possible candidates, especially since the billionaire has already initiated a talk with the Canadian federal government.
But, other enthusiasts said that the giant automaker could also be planning to enhance its overall business in Asia.
If this is the case, South Korea would most likely have the new Tesla facility.
During a recent video conference with the SoKor leader, Musk said that he is considering South Korea as one of its top options.
The billionaire added that he would make his final decision after he reviews other countries' investment conditions, such as labor quality, production infrastructure, and technology level, as reported by Reuters.
Why South Korea is a Great Candidate
Tesla Giga Shanghai has already proven its potential by becoming the automaker's powerhouse factory.
It has already made significant contributions to Tesla's finances and overall output.
However, this gigafactory could face some issues since the tension between China and U.S. is still there.
Just like China, Tesla already has strong ties to South Korea. The automaker works closely with LGES (LG Energy Solutions) to manufacture EV batteries.
This just shows that South Korea could also be a great place for another Tesla gigafactory powerhouse.
