Podcast Audio Enhancement

Spotify introduces a new feature in the Anchor app that is specifically made for podcast creators, the Podcast Audio Enhancement. Based on a report from Engadget, this is a one-button voice isolation feature that creators can utilize even without an expensive microphone or even recording in a noisy environment. The company described it as the "most valuable editing tool" with its capability of reducing background noises and leveling the recorded audio.

"Audio Enhancement in Anchor is your most valuable audio editing tool. A single tap can automatically reduce background noise while leveling your voice and bringing it to the forefront. The result is better-sounding audio, even if it was recorded in a loud coffee shop, on the subway, or with babies crying in the background. And that means it's easier for more people to record podcasts without waiting for a quiet, distraction-free setting or setting up a home studio. With Audio Enhancement, the world is your studio," Anchor stated on their blog post.

Anchor is considered one of the biggest podcast creation platforms, as it can do anything for users to have an outstanding experience for recording a podcast, as per 9To5Mac's report. This platform reduces the barrier of entry for future creators who want to start their own content in the podcast industry. The isolation feature is now available for all Anchor creators globally via the Anchor mobile application on iOS and Android for free.

Audio Enhancement in Other Platforms

Aside from Spotify, other companies in the tech industry have also invested in a voice isolation feature for their users, especially now that AI advances lead to clarifying audio without expensive devices. Video Conference platforms like Zoom and Google Meet also offer this feature that reduces background noises during calls.

Spotify Videocasts

Last week, Spotify also expanded its video podcasting tools to 180 markets worldwide, which makes the functionality available in almost all of its markets. As per TechCrunch, the tools are now accessible via the Anchor application. Through this move, Spotify competes with YouTube where almost all of the videocasts are usually uploaded on the internet.

Adding to this, YouTube also hired Podcast Executive Kai Chuk in an effort for the company to enter the industry of podcasts. Bloomberg reported that the streaming platform has been offering cash to popular creators for them to film their shows and upload them on YouTube.
