However, it is still unclear why the Apple exec quit the social network. But upon checking out his account, a note states that his account no longer exists.
Apple App Store Boss Phil Schiller Quits Twitter
As per the latest news story by Apple Insider, the Twitter account of Schiller flaunted more than 250,000 followers before it was suddenly deactivated.
So it appears that his account is somewhat prominent on the platform. Getting that many followers is not a small feat anyway.
After all, he is none other than the head of the official app marketplace of the Cupertino-based tech giant. And as such, the online news outlet notes that the Apple exec used his account to showcase various products and services while he was still the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Worldwide Marketing.
He continued using his account even as he changed roles as an Apple Follow and the App Store boss. But despite that, Schiller still decided to leave Twitter behind.
While Schiller has kept mum about his departure, iPhone in Canada suggests that it goes to show that Schiller is seemingly unhappy with where Twitter looks to be headed.
Twitter Under its New Chief Twit Elon Musk
It is worth mentioning that since the ultra-rich billionaire took over the social network, a lot has changed.
One of which is the reinstatement of the former President of the United States (POTUS) Donald Trump and rapper Kanye West. Not to mention that Musk rolled out an option that allows all users to purchase a blue verification check for a short while.
Given that, some advertisers have decided to pull out from the social networking service due to content moderating concerns.
Is Twitter Getting Kicked Out from the App Store?
Apple has yet to announce any plans to remove Twitter from its App Store. However, Bloomberg journalist, Mark Gurman, suggests that such a route might have to be taken soon.
As Gurman revealed in his recent tweet that the Apple Fellow left Twitter, he adds that Apple and Google are likely to kick out that social network.
The journalist notes that there is "lots of [leeways]" for it to happen. But he adds "there is a real scenario in which Apple/Google remove Twitter."
He cites issues on the Musk-owned platform, such as content moderation and bypassing the app store commissions, as reasons for the social network to be booted out.
Gurman furthered that it looks like the Apple App Store chief does not feel all good about Twitter under the leadership of Musk.
