A TikTok clip posted by a user that goes by the name Cadence shows that an employer is still using the old punch clock system.

However, as per the latest news story by Daily Dot, some TikTok users expressed shock when they watched the video showcasing the near-obsolete system.

The video says that "It's 2022 and this is how I'm clocking in and out." The clip which lasts for a few seconds simply shows how the employee is placing a time card to clock in and out like in the good ol' days.

It is worth noting that the video uploaded last October 29 has already garnered millions of views as of writing. Not to mention that it has already received roughly 72,000 likes on the video-sharing platform. It has also been shared elsewhere around 1,300 times.

Meanwhile, hundreds of responses flooded the comments section with mixed reactions. Some reveal that their employers are still using the old punch clock system.

One of the users in the comments thread blurts out "me too girl" with an eye roll emoji.

But another TikTok user said that the punch clock system is still way ahead of her employer as they only use a piece of paper to clock in and out.

On the other hand, another commenter says that she liked the old-school system better. The user wrote that she "could always take a picture of it in case they messed up my hours or were sneaky."

Another TikTok folk feels the same way. "I'd like that better [than] having to get on a computer to clock out," the user commented on the viral video.

Some TikTok Users Were Shocked

But besides these comments, the punch clock TikTok video also got some comments expressing their shock.

One of the replies came from a payroll administrator. "I would definitely quit if I had to manually add everyone's hours this way," the user shares.

Another user seems to have felt some nostalgia after seeing the trending clip. The user recalled, "that's the way I clock in and out in 1988."
