The new Honda EV with PS5 now has an estimated launch date.
This is not really the first time that electric vehicles have added gaming features.
One of the most popular innovations is what Tesla did with its Model X and Model S.
Honda wants to join in this trend after partnering with Sony.
Honda EV With PS5 to Arrive!
According to The Gamer's latest report, Honda and Sony announced their partnership in September.
Sony Honda Mobility, their official joint venture, is expected to bring new electric cars integrated with PS5 consoles.
"Sony has content, services, and entertainment technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobility, and this is our strength against Tesla," said Izumi Kawanishi, the joint venture's president.
As of writing, the brand for their first EV with PS5 is not yet confirmed. Designs and other details about electric cars also remain unclear.
But Yasuhide Mizuno, the previous Honda cars head, said that they would focus on the content first.
Mizuno, who is now the Sony Honda Mobility chair, added that the first model is expected to arrive as early as 2025.
He further shared that North America will be the first market to see the new EV with PS5.
Honda EV With PS5's Other Details
If you visit the official Sony Honda Mobility website, you will see that the joint venture's main goal is to offer better mobility and entertainment experience at the same time.
Sony and Honda said that "mobility is to move people, to move their emotions." This shows that the two companies want to ensure that people can enjoy their time while on the road.
They want passengers, and even drivers, to experience this. Kawanishi said this could be done by saving most of the interior spaces for enjoyment.
He explained autonomous driving is a great solution since drivers no longer need to use much space just to operate their EVs.
Aside from the new venture, Honda is conducting other efforts to improve its EV business.
Recently, the design of the new Honda Prologue electric SUV was revealed.
The Honda-Hanwa partnership was also able to secure EV battery minerals.
