Tesla Mobile Connector Price Hikes by $30 — Here’s How Much it Costs Now

You'll now have to pay more to get your hands on the Mobile Connector bundle.

Tesla's Mobile Connector is now priced more expensively after its cost has quietly hiked by roughly $30.

What used to be bundled with new Tesla electric vehicle (EV) purchases, now costs more than $200.

Tesla Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elon Musk announced last April that new orders will no longer include the Mobile Connector.

Tesla Mobile Connector Price Increases

And this time, as per the latest new story by Tesla North, the pricing of the Mobile Connector, which used to be free for new EV purchases, has increased.

The online news outlet notes that the giant EV maker slashed the pricing of its Mobile Connector when it stopped including it for new purchases. From $400, its pricing has dropped by half, making it only $200 last summer.

However, Tesla has now increased its pricing by about $30. So if you are planning to get your hands on it, you will have to spend up to $230.

At that pricing, the website of Tesla says that it already offers a 20 feet long Mobile Connector. The bundle includes a cable organizing bag to ditch nasty dangling wires and a standard 120-volt household or NEMA 5-15 adapter.

The EV maker also began including a NEMA 14-50 adapter to its Mobile Connector bundle last August.

Tesla Stops Including Mobile Connectors in New Purchases

The Tesla website also says "vehicle orders placed after April 28, 2022, will not include a Mobile Connector with delivery."

Instead, its customers now have to purchase the Mobile Connector separately to get their hands on it.

Back in April, Musk tweeted that his EV maker dropped the pricing of the Mobile Connector to $200. Not to mention that ordering the bundle has been made more convenient.

The big boss of Tesla notes that the Mobile Connector is unnecessary if EV owners opt to top up their batteries at Supercharging stations. It is also "not needed if you have a Tesla wall connector."

However, the said connector still comes in handy as it allows electric car drivers to charge their vehicles in a wall outlet sans the wall connector.

But if you want to cop the Mobile Connector bundle of the giant EV maker, you will have to spare $230.
