Twitter: Elon Musk is Relaunching the Blue Verified Service, Delaying to Nov. 29—Unpaid Subs to Be Removed

Those parody accounts gave Elon Musk a run for his money.

Twitter under Elon Musk's leadership is off to a rough start, particularly with its new verification system under Twitter Blue which experienced several glitches and problems in its early run. With that, Elon Musk announced to the public that he will soon be relaunching the service by November 29, and it aims to deliver a streamlined experience for all requiring the blue checkmark.

One of the main problems of Twitter's verification now is that it allows almost anyone to get verification, and this is despite their accounts being parodies or impersonations of known personalities.

Elon Musk addressed the Twitter Blue Verified service in his recent tweet, saying that it will see a relaunch of the service soon, delaying it to later this month, by November 29. The tech CEO aims to make everything crystal and run smoothly for the public to experience, especially with the many problems it faced on fake accounts and the like.

Twitter's Blue Verified encountered massive problems as parodies and impersonations went massive, having the chance to verify their profiles as long as they paid for the $8 monthly subscription.

With the future update on Twitter's Blue Verified experience, Musk aims to make it "rock solid" so that it would not encounter the same problems as before.

Twitter is Removing Verification for Unpaid Subs

On the other hand, Musk also addressed the concerns regarding the legacy Blue checkmarks, with Chief Twit saying that they will remove all unpaid verifications in the coming months.

Furthermore, it will be easier to differentiate legitimate verified accounts from fake ones, as the company will also disallow impersonations on its platform.

Elon Musk's Famed Twitter Verification

Musk promised the world a version of Twitter that people will have the power to control and experience, and he centered on this with the blue checkmark verification now requiring a subscription to get. People will need to pay $8 monthly for their verification on the platform, and this blue checkmark before was a free service from the company, as a means of verifying one's legitimate identity.

Verification is an important thing on Twitter as almost anyone can copy a person's account and make it look legitimate, with the blue checkmark being the only means to identify them from fakes.

However, there came a massive wave of fake accounts, parodies, and impersonators which received verification and it impeded the way to identify a personality from anonymous people posing to be others. Now, there is a new rule regarding this, where Musk and the company will permanently suspend accounts that impersonate different people on Twitter.

With the many problems and chaotic experience of Musk's early days and new policies on Twitter, he aims to relaunch the verification service later this month to fix everything and ensure its legitimacy. For now, users would have to wait to get their verification back again, something which might be too long for those aiming to launch their brand or products under their legitimate accounts.
