The European Space Agency (ESA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) captured a "Solar Snake" slithering on the Sun's surface at immense speed on the brightest star in the Solar System. It shows the silhouette of a wild accumulation on the Sun's surface, regarded by astronomers as a snake, resembling the reptile.
The ESA and NASA's Solar Orbiter managed to capture this wild phenomenon on the Sun's surface, showing a different look on the bright star's scorching presence.
'Solar Snake' Spotted Slithering on the Sun's Surface
One might think, there are no animals on the massive star, and you would be right to think that. Nevertheless, a snake-like figure appeared on the Sun's surface as seen by NASA and the ESA's Solar Orbiter. The agencies dubbed this the "Solar Snake," and it is something new for the Sun to bring, with this phenomenon being the center of the Orbiter's study.
According to CNET, the Solar Orbiter saw a snake slithering on the Sun's surface at massive speeds, traveling as much as 106 miles per second (170 kilometers).
The Sun's plasma and magnetic field helped shape this beast to look like a snake, with its heated gas creating the figure of this snake-like appearance.
ESA, NASA's Solar Orbiter Documents
The ESA and NASA's Solar Orbiter caught this Solar Snake slithering on the bright star's surface, but it is not the first time that it showed a figure in its likeness. Last month, the Sun was captured to show a smile on its surface, beaming its heat and power to the system.
ESA's Solar Orbiter
The Sun is a massive ball of hot, molten lava and it is the central figure of the entire Solar System, also appears as the largest object seen in the region. It is subject to many studies in modern astronomical research, especially as there is a lot more to learn about the brightest star in this system, particularly as it is connected to life.
The ESA's Solar Orbiter is focusing its efforts and resources to get more information regarding the massive star, and it launched in 2020 to get up close to the Sun.
It already delivered one of the closest images of the Sun with previous takes and ventures, the closest that a manmade spacecraft went to its scorching hot presence.
The Solar Orbiter's job is not yet done, as it will continue to monitor the different phenomena and happenings with the Solar System's central figure, one that requires more to know about despite the many studies behind it.
Its latest observation saw a formation of a snake-like figure which moved at incredible speeds on the Sun's surface, but it is no animal or reptile in real life. Nevertheless, it is one sight to see, as it is rare for the bright ball of light to conjure up figures like this Solar Snake, with an active state which shows the entire system now.
