The social media company allegedly removes Twitter Blue.
This detail was first shared by Jane Manchun Wong, a popular tech analyst well-known for leaking features yet to arrive.
"Twitter seems to have unlaunched the new $7.99 Twitter Blue subscription," she said via her official Twitter announcement.
As of press time, her tweet was able to garner thousands of likes and hundreds of retweets.
Was Twitter Blue Removed?
Based on Wong's claim, it seems like she is really sure of what she's saying.
The tech analyst explained that she already checked with the Twitter API, as well as the in-app purchase for Twitter Blue Verified.
She added that upon checking, the subscription service is no longer listed for production.
Aside from her, Jon Prosser, another reliable tech enthusiast, said the same thing.
"aaaaaand twitter blue is gone lol," said Prosser via his official tweet.
In the comment section, Twitter users shared their anticipation of the removal of Twitter Blue.
One of them sarcastically said that the feature lasted longer than expected. Another one stated that it was a new day, a new Twitter.
Why Twitter Blue is Criticized
Before Elon Musk acquired the giant social media platform, the Twitter Blue service only cost $4.99 per month.
However, after becoming the platform's new owner, the billionaire decided to launch Twitter Blue's new version, which is priced at $7.99 monthly.
This means that it is now $3 more expensive. MacRumors reported that the new version was rolled out on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
Regarding the rumors of its sudden removal, Twitter hasn't made any comment yet.
If you are among the platform's users, the best thing you can do is wait for the company's official announcements before making any conclusion.
Ever since the billionaire took over, many users decided to leave the platform.
Previously, many Twitter users decided to transfer to the so-called Mastodon app.
We also reported that some Twitter employees sued Musk because of his mass layoffs.
