The Kawasaki Ninja EV and Kawasaki Z EV were recently revealed as traditional battery electric motorcycles, and the company also revealed an HEV hydrogen-powered concept motorcycle, according to Electrek.
The Electric Kawasaki
The Kawasaki Electric Ninja and Z models are still prototypes, but it was announced that they will be available for purchase in 2023.
Although there is not a lot of information about the upcoming models, some little things have been shared. For one, they will be European A1 license compliant. Next is that each will have a large battery capacity of up to 3.0 kWh with two 12 kg battery packs that can be removed easily.
A Look at the Kawasaki Z EV
The Z EV was designed with clean, controlled lines to give it a unique look. The first thing that is noticed is the large battery pack behind the seats. It includes a proprietary cooling system, and the pack can be removed quickly. Look for fully LED headlights, LED turn signals, and bright LED tail lights.
The under-pannier design is interesting, as it has a sleek look and doesn't have the large wheels that congest the look of the bike. The bike is also able to be customized in different ways, including being fitted with a luggage rack.

The Kawasaki Ninja EV
The Kawasaki Ninja EV has a more compact design. Probably, it can fulfill its costs as a commuter bike and city cycle. The bike features a thin z-shaped LED headlight, LED taillights, and turn signals, too.
The battery is fitted through the middle of the frame, and the rear of the bike is thin to give it the most aerodynamic design possible. The bike also has a high-capacity 310 Wh battery.
The Future of Kawasaki Motorcycles in the US
The US seems to be very late to the EV party, as most countries have already moved in the EV direction. It is also important to realize that the upcoming Kawasaki EVs are not a part of a large company's commitment to moving into the EV game. They are simply two models that the company is showcasing that are based on existing engine models.
Kawasaki, like other motorcycle manufacturers, is beginning to focus on the electric, not necessarily to save the environment but to keep up with the notable technology changes. As more details are released, we'll keep you updated regarding the latest news.
The electric motorcycle market is still in its early stages, and plenty of new models are to come. Will the Kawasaki Z and EV Ninja be a unique new addition to the competition? We'll just have to wait and see.
