Apple AirPods Pro 2's new firmware update version has started rolling out to its users.
The iPhone maker confirmed in its support page website that its high-end earbuds received a new firmware update. The Cupertino-based tech giant further revealed what the new software update offers.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 New Firmware Update
As per the latest news story by Apple Insider, the AirPods Pro 2 firmware update is now on its way to its users.
It is worth noting that the latest update is only available to the all-new second-generation AirPods Pro. It means that it does not support other Apple wireless earbuds, such as the first-generation AirPods Pro and the non-Pro AirPods.
On top of that, Apple Insider highlights in its report that unlike other updates, the iPhone maker does not provide any release notes for AirPods firmware releases.
So it is difficult to really know what changes Apple has rolled out to its wireless earbuds. It is unlike its other software updates for iOS and macOS, wherein it provides a full list of improvements and other changes.
AirPods Pro 2: Bug Fixes and Improvements
But despite that, its Apple support page revealed that the new AirPods firmware version brings "bug fixes and improvements."
It is unclear which issues have been resolved in the latest release. It also remains to be seen if the renowned tech giant improved its Noise Cancelling feature.
Apple Insider notes that some of the firmware releases for AirPods have surprisingly reduced its Active Noise Cancellation function. The tech firm has yet to explain why it has scaled down its ANC feature. So it is unclear why the iPhone maker did such a move.
Besides the fixes and improvements, Apple revealed that the latest update carries the version 5B58. However, the new firmware release is only available for the AirPods Pro 2.
On the other hand, previous iterations of the earbuds still sport the 4E71 firmware version.
How to Install Latest Firmware Version
The Apple support website states that "firmware updates are delivered periodically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac."
And as such, all you have to do to get your hands on the latest firmware update is to simply charge and connect your pair of earbuds to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
If you are looking to install it manually, there is no option to do so. Instead, users have to wait until the tech giant starts rolling it out.
