Apple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max customers will have to wait a little longer before their orders arrive. The renowned tech giant says buyers will experience "longer wait times" than before.

The phone maker disclosed that its iPhone 14 series factories in China are to blame.

So if you are itching to get your hands on the iPhone 14 models that sport the Dynamic Island, you might have to be more patient this time.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max Longer Delivery Wait Time

As per the latest news story by The Verge, Apple warned its customers that the high-end iPhone models, the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, should expect "longer wait times."

The Cupertino-based tech firm revealed that the shipments for its more expensive iPhones are getting lower. And in turn, customers who order the Pro variant will have to wait a little longer before the high-end mobile devices reach them.

The renowned firm says "we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated."

And as such, Apple confirmed that "customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products."

But despite that, the tech behemoth clarified that the Dynamic Island-ready phones are still seeing "strong demand."

Given that these phones are seeing demand, why are the shipments of these iPhone 14 Pro models getting lower?

Apple Blames China COVID-19 Lockdown for Lower iPhone 14 Shipments

According to a recent report by CNBC, the iPhone maker had no choice but to temporarily lessen its production of the higher-end iPhone models. It comes as its factory in China is currently grappling with some COVID-19 restrictions.

The giant phone maker disclosed that the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou has been forced to operate at "significantly reduced capacity."

CNBC notes in its report that the government of China decided to put Zhengzhou under lockdown due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Coincidentally, the Yellow River metropolis also turns out to be the location where iPhones are made. So its factory had to operate with some limits these days.

The Verge notes that roughly 200,000 Foxconn employees have been required to stay in their dorms within the facilities of the factory. However, the food and other essential supplies were reportedly limited for a couple of days. In turn, some of them decided to leave, leading to fewer workers.
