Its arrival comes years after the Cupertino-based tech giant debuted the MagSafe wireless charging for its flagship mobile device.
Apple-Approved MagSafe Car Mount for iPhones
As per the latest news story by The Verge, MagSafe car mount chargers are not entirely new. In fact, when you browse on Amazon, you will see several listings to choose from.
Given that, what makes this new Belkin wireless charger a big deal? Well, the Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe is the first-ever that Apple has approved.
After over two years since MagSafe saw the light of day, Apple has finally approved a car mount charger for its wireless charging technology.
The approval is not merely a badge of honor. It raises the charging power of this new car charger, according to a recent report by Apple Insider.
It is worth mentioning that wireless car chargers out there only top up the batteries of iPhones of up to 7.5 watts.
But this time, the new Belkin MagSafe accessory is MFi-certified. So it means that it can safely charge the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14, with 15W of power.
So from 7.5W, the Apple-approved MagSafe charger boasts up to 15W of charging power.
Not to mention that it is the first-ever official MagSafe car mount charger.
How Much is Belkin's New MagSafe Car Charger?
The Verge reports that other MagSafe car chargers on Amazon are quite cheap. But the first-ever official release retails for nearly $100.
The Belkin charger is now available for pre-order at the Apple online store to the tune of $99.95.
What to Expect from the First Apple-Approved MagSafe Car Charger
At nearly a hundred dollars, it offers an oval-shaped wireless charger that could mount to the air vents of cars.
On top of that, the box includes a USB-C wire. Interestingly, it comes with a built-in cable management strap to keep your car free from dangling cables. It also rocks a small USB-C CLA charger, which connects to the cigarette lighter of the vehicle.
Customers who pre-ordered from Apple could get their hands on the Belkin MagSafe car charger starting this Nov. 14.
