Elon Musk's response to the many that have been complaining about his new changes to Twitter's subscription for verification is to pay the $8 per month or not get the blue check at all. There have been many complaints about the new policies on Twitter, and it includes significant names in the industry like New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez among the bunch.
Users who have been verified for a long time now are at a crossroads with the new subscription requirement, especially as it was free before this latest change.
Elon Musk Slaps $8 Subscription to All Complaints
The top billionaire presents his views on social media, saying that Twitter is still the most interesting place on the internet, and received a reply which looks down on his management capabilities.
A CNN reporter said that Musk is like a child and treats Twitter as his toy, directly insulting the Chief Twit on his changes and policies for the new age of the platform.
The only reply that Musk tweeted is the price for his new verification subscription which is $8.
Musk also made memes regarding the blue check verification, saying that Twitter's $8 charge would be good for thirty days, unlike that of a Starbucks Frappuccino drink that costs the same, but will be finished in 30 minutes.
Musk vs. NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Another public figure clashed heads with Musk, with Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently tweeted a shade against his Twitter policy for the new subscription. Chief Twit said that her feedback was "much appreciated," but has to pay $8 per month for Cortez to retain her verification status and enjoy the perks available on the platform.
Elon Musk and Twitter's New Management
Twitter's new management is now in the hands of a known short-word social media platform user and enthusiast, Elon Musk, who is pushing for changes in the present after he acquired the company. One of his latest changes is the $8 per month subscription for the verification, alongside removing the edit feature from the paid subscription.
This means that users no longer need to be on Twitter Blue for them to edit their tweets, and it would be a feature available for free.
Some support Musk for the latest changes on Twitter but also became the center of trolling and backlash as many disapprove of his new direction for the social media. Long-time Twitter users have mixed reviews on Musk's latest policies and focus, especially with the controversial verification that needs subscriptions.
Nevertheless, it seems like Musk would be an iron hand in his planned changes for Twitter, especially with the verification subscription which he pushes for in the platform now. It does not matter who would complain against the company's updated prices, as they would be the same as the common users that may have verification for a price.
