BeyonCa's Newest Feature
A report from South China Morning Post stated that BeyonCa, a Chinese startup for electric vehicles, will be offering the newest feature for its newest premium EV that might attract new buyers.
Through this new feature, the vehicle will be able to monitor the driver's blood pressure, alarm an emergency doctor when needed (hired and provided by Beyonca), and have a function for autonomous driving to help drivers park the car. The company aims to start the production of these vehicles that come with these feature in the first quarter of next year and to start deliveries by 2024.
After launching the company two years ago, it is currently led by Renault China Chief Executive Officer Weiming Soh and backed by the companies Renault and Dongfeng Motor. The CEO stated that their offerings can be an alternative to luxury cars like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. And as the luxury car market grows in China, BeyonCa aims to challenge these automakers as they introduce the newest feature. "We focus on smart premium design and on user services like health," Soh added.
As per Reuters' report, the company also targets the segment for high-end premium models like Audi's A8L, BMW's 7 Series, and Mercedes' S Class. The CEO stated that they need to confront these German brands as they will have a chance to surpass them with the medical features and future stuff that they will be deploying soon.
Situation of EV Sector in China
Despite the company introducing its newest innovation, the country's EV sector intensifies as difficulties emerge in the market. The perfect example of this is Tesla's move on decreasing the prices which analysts stated that might start a price war.
However, the CEO stated that the company's growth in the industry makes them steady in the premium car sector. He also added that BeyonCa might have annual sales of 3 million cars in the country.
Renault's move for this problem is that they are done investing as the company readies to enhance the transformation of the company from an automaker to a tech giant in car tech. Soh said, "Our idea is to create something right under a more nimble corporate structure. What we achieved in more than one year here would take seven or eight years at a conventional automaker."
