Microsoft hinted that Xbox price hikes may happen. This detail was shared by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer.
He had an interview with the Wall Street Journal's conference this October.
"We've held price on our console, we've held price on games... and our subscription," said the Spencer.
However, the Microsoft Gaming official added that the company can't maintain its products' prices forever. Phil further explained that they have to raise costs at some point.
Microsoft Xbox Price Hikes Likely to Happen
According to Trusted Reviews' latest report, Microsoft wants to maintain the prices of its Xbox products during the upcoming holidays.
Spencer stated that Xbox consumers are quite uncertain when it comes to Microsoft Gaming products compared to the past years.
Because of this, they want their video games to remain as attractive as possible. However, the current prices may soon change.
Enthusiasts believe that Microsoft will start implementing its Xbox price hikes as early as 2023. But, which product would be affected by these cost increases?
Which Xbox Product Would be Affected?
Kotaku reported that Xbox games are likely to be affected by the upcoming price hikes.
Aside from these video games, the Xbox Game Pass service's costs could also increase, especially since other rival subscription services already adjusted their prices.
However, Xbox consoles may not be included. Microsoft critics said that gaming consoles' prices are commonly becoming cheaper over time.
So, instead of being included in the price hikes, Xbox Series X and Series S will experience cost decreases.
But, with the ongoing inflationary crisis, there's a small chance that Xbox gaming devices would be affected, especially since there are production issues, such as component shortages, labor scarcity, and other similar problems.
