Coming Soon: Next Gen Quest

During the company's most recent earnings call, the outgoing Meta's Chief Financial Officer confirmed during his presentation that there will be a next-generation Quest headset, as reported by Engadget.

No names were given for the teased headset as Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg also addressed this upcoming device as "the next generation of our consumer Quest headset". There is also no confirmation whether this is the rumored Quest 3.

This was not the first time that the executives, especially Zuckerberg, mentioned and teased the fans regarding an upcoming Quest besides the Pro variant. The CEO told just this month through Analyst Ben Thompson that the company has been working on Quest 3 and that it would likely range from $300 to $500.

Release Date

During the presentation, Whener announced that this will be launched to the market later next year. No specific date was given but looking back to the past launches, Meta usually introduces its new head headset during fall, the same time as the annual Connect event.

Details of the Quest 3 were leaked online by a Tech YouTuber named Brad Lynch, popularly knowns as SadlyItsBradley. This includes the headset's specs and other displays, as Euro Gamer reported.

BGR reported that the CEO is very confident with the metaverse's future despite several investors have started to step back and lose faith regarding the vision of the company to virtual reality. As he stated, there are no plans to stop the investment in this sector since there is a difference between something experimental and not knowing how good will be the outcome.
