ECD Automotive, a restoration specialist, based in Florida, recently delivered its first three Jaguar E-Type sports cars, as reported by Slashgear.
The company describes itself as "the world's leading luxury restomod company." They started with British classics but also offered restoration services to return them to their original specifications. In addition, they also offer a service that pairs classic looks of top on a modern drivetrain.
The Jaguar E-Type
Also known as the XK-E in the US, this Jaguar model was built from 1961 to 1974, and it was one of the most popular cars of all time. Getting a piece of this is challenging today, so consider yourself lucky when you get your hands on this.
Now, with ECD's work, you get a new one instead of buying an actual 60-year-old vehicle. Customers will be able to choose every interior and exterior detail for the restoration project. Then, ECD will start building the vehicle based on the customer's choices.
The company also offers a gas-powered GM LT1 V8 and an all-electric model with a drivetrain borrowed from a Tesla.
You can get a Jaguar E-Type at $299,995. However, the amount will vary depending on your chosen modifications.

E-Type
Initially, ECD specialized in old Land Rovers, but it was only recently that they added the E-Type to their restoration options. They will build E-Type in various ways, such as with a historic drivetrain, rock-solid LT1 V8, or the all-electric Tesla plant.
Vehicle Restorations Today
ECD has established itself as a top name in the world of vehicle restorations. In today's world, people always want to get their hands on the most exotic and exclusive vehicles. They make a top dollar selling the classic car to another customer. On the other hand, their auto restoration services are also getting rave reviews, not just for classic models but also for high-end vehicles made in the last few years. With this service, you can strip a dilapidated car down and give it a vintage look. Then, you can also transform it into a modern one with the help of a brand-new drivetrain.
Is It Worth It?
In the end, you need to decide if it is worth it. However, if you love old classic cars and want to give them a vintage look, this could be a good idea. On the other hand, you may not want to use the old car in everyday driving and want to boost it up a bit. However, given the price tag, you might have to think twice before buying. But, then again, you do get a brand-new car. Also, this is a great way to enjoy some of the most exclusive vintage cars in the world today.
